Akamai Cloud offers customer facing services enabled by the underlying Akamai Platform and Backbone. All Akamai services are centrally managed offering one of the world's largest interconnected cloud platforms. Akamai Cloud allows users to leverage multiple cloud delivery models from IaaS to SaaS with individual services accredited at differing levels. The Akamai Platform and Backbone provides a common delivery fabric for all of Akamai's customer facing services and common controls that can be leveraged for all these services. Each service is capable of running diverse workloads, the Defense Edge initiative focuses on the accreditation of these services at the FRH and DoD IL5 levels. Delivery solutions can be accomplished across different security levels by offering secure workload guidance and configurations that are enforced at multiple infrastructure points within the underlying Platform and Backbone with the eventual goal of having each service capable of operating at the higher security attestation levels through these configuration options.
